Electrical thermal imaging

Electrical thermalimaging Sydney.

An infrared inspection of switchboards and electrical equipment to find abnormal heat — loose connections, overloaded circuits and failing components — before they turn into faults or outages.

01Who we work with
02Scope

What's included.

01

Switchboard thermal scanning

Main and distribution boards scanned under load to show where heat is building up.

02

Hot spot detection

Abnormal heat at joints, terminals, breakers and cables that can't be seen by eye.

03

Electrical thermography

Thermal images of the equipment inspected, so findings can be seen, not just described.

04

Thermal imaging reports

A report of what was found, with thermal and standard photos where appropriate, and recommended next steps.

05

Rectification

Shoreline can quote and carry out the repairs identified, then re-check the affected equipment.

06

Preventative maintenance

Thermal imaging can form part of a planned maintenance program across one site or a portfolio.

03How we work
  1. Step 1

Agree which boards and equipment to inspect.

  2. Step 2

Scan while the site is operating, with minimal disruption.

  3. Step 3

Report abnormal heat with images and priorities.

  4. Step 4

Recommend and quote what should be addressed.

FAQs

Common questions.

What is electrical thermal imaging?

It uses an infrared camera to show the surface temperature of electrical equipment. Components running hotter than expected can point to loose connections, overloading or deterioration.

What does a thermal imaging inspection detect?

Abnormal heat at switchboard connections, breakers, terminals, cables and other electrical equipment. These hot spots are often invisible during a standard visual check.

Do you provide a thermal imaging report?

Yes. Findings are reported with thermal images and standard photos where appropriate, along with recommendations on what should be addressed.

Can thermal imaging be used on commercial switchboards?

Yes. Commercial switchboards are one of the most common uses, because problems at connections tend to show up as heat before they fail.

Do you provide thermal imaging for strata properties?

Yes. Shoreline inspects common-property switchboards and electrical equipment for strata managers and owners corporations across Sydney.

How do I book a thermal inspection?

Use the booking button on this page, call 0435 549 839 or email adrian@shorelineelectrical.com.au and we'll discuss the site and what needs inspecting.

Testing + inspection

Thermal imaging, RCD testing, torque testing, test + tag, emergency lighting testing and complimentary condition assessments.

Inspect. Test. Report. Prevent.
